Cold Pressed Macadamia Oil
We press our oils with passion and precision. Using a technique that requires extra low pressure resulting in truly raw and pure oils. High quality that you can taste!
Unlike other nut oils, unrefined macadamia oil is made from nuts that are dried and then extra cold-pressed. A good quality macadamia oil is clear in color with a rich nutty taste. Taking short cuts in the production process causes the taste of the oil to vary tremendously.
Macadamia oil has a very faint scent and is also a very popular carrier oil for essential oils.
Similarly to almond oil, macadamia oil makes a fabulous skin oil.

Ostro Organics Location
Ostro Organics Oils are pressed fresh, in small batches in Victoria B.C. Canada
Crop Origin
The origin of the various crops are subject to change, due to harvest short falls, cost of shipping and world demand. Especially with nuts coming from overseas, special focus on unpasteurized nuts, the country of origin changes frequently.
Production Steps
- The raw oil is being pressed in small batches.
- After pressing the oil sludge settles to the bottom of the oil barrel.
- The fresh oil is then carefully being decanted and bottled.
- Followed by capping and proper labeling.
Cold Pressing Technique
Cold Pressing Technique
At Ostro Organics we use a modern low-pressure screw press to extract the oil from the nuts and seeds. Focusing on low pressure and low heat extraction. Higher heat means higher yield but also more alteration when it comes to its molecular structure. At Ostro Organics, we press every oil at a different heat point. Ranging from 9° to 29° degrees Celsius.
Ostro Organics presses oils under very low pressure and minimal temperatures. Currently ranging between 9° and 29° Celsius. Resulting in low yield oil extraction, obtaining a yield of roughly 55% depending on the variety of nut and seed.
Higher yields can be easily reached by applying industry standards including more pressure, heat, solvents and adding other agents to the extraction process.
When consuming Ostro Organics macadamia nut oil in this pure, fresh, natural and real form, you will NOT be consuming hydrogenated fats or trans fatty acids.
Storage
Refrigerate after receiving and opening.
How do you use macadamia oil on hair?
How do you use macadamia oil on hair?
Take a dime-sized dollop of virgin, cold-pressed macadamia oil. Rub it between your palms and then smooth it throughout your hair. Pay careful attention to getting the oil to the ends of your hair to help repair split ends and damage. Raw macadamia oil should be purchased fresh in small bottles specifically for this purpose. The highest quality of macadamia oil is always edible, therefor you should buy an unrefined and fresh macadamia nut oil if you intend to use it on your skin or hair.
